Flood Donations
SHIRLEY SMITH

Clay County Public Schools received a generous donation from Casey County public schools Wednesday, August 3rd. SESC (Southeast South-Central Educational Cooperative) reached out to schools in our area to offer assistance. The Casey County School District was eager to help. Eric Carmen, (Director of Transportation for Casey County Public Schools) delivered items needed by many. The love shown to our area from everyone and the communities around us has been immense.  As Superintendent William Sexton and central office staff unloaded materials, it was obvious that Casey County has a heart for giving. CCPS could never repay the kindness that was shown to us. Special thanks go out to Kay Dixon, Ashley Judd, Leah Marcum, and Markita Proctor with SESC and Superintendent Barry Lee for their collaboration and willingness to assist.

The start date for Clay County Public Schools will be delayed by one week due to the recent flooding in our community. All staff will report to their schools on Monday, August 15th.  The first day for students will now be Thursday, August 18th. Preschool students will begin Wednesday, August 24th. Our thoughts and prayers continue to go out to all those families that have experienced these events. We look forward to seeing everyone return for a healthy, successful school year.  The start date for Clay County Public Schools will be delayed by one week due to the recent flooding in our community.
